the august 31 issue of sports illustrated included a graphic on its cover that caught my eye today. It’s a circle , with a #4 inside that’s crossed out and text that reads “100% favre-free issue.” unbelievable. brett favre had “can’t miss” character just a few years ago. now, there are officially more people that hate him than love him. how else can you explain a publication’s need to lead with this on its cover? favre is the all-time leading passer in nfl football history, once played shortly after his father passed away (and excelled), never missed a start for injury, and who was portrayed as the ultimate great catch in the movie there’s something about mary. what a publicity nightmare!
