why are verizon and at&t fighting over maps? people don’t buy services based on specs, stats, etc. they buy based on a feeling they have for an organization or a person they’ve met that they like. the way verizon is selling, they’re twisting the information and can’t be making friends along the way. it doesn’t really matter whose 3g network is bigger, just as long as there is coverage where the majority of people live, work and spend free time. if there’s a chance that you might get attacked by a bear in the woods of montana, then i suppose it’s helpful to know which signal is more reliable there. it’s a stretch though. since i’ve never met anyone i truly like from verizon, i’ll assume at&t has them beat in the “buy from friends” category. i mean, would you rather buy from luke wilson and his broken relationships from all over the county or the “can you hear me now, good” guy? they’re both annoying, but one is less. business owners — it’s cool to underline a technical aspect in your pitch (especially when it’s a key differentiator). just don’t forget to keep it real when you do.
