i was watching a show today on how money is manufactured in the united states. production involves a painstaking amount of steps, detail, materials and security to produce something whose value is ensured and protected. while other countries have recently changed their currency design for security purposes (australia now prints on plastic!), the u.s. rarely makes any changes for fear of our currency seeming less permanent, stable, ironclad, etc. i couldn’t help but think of the implications on branding and why many are afraid to evaluate or refresh how they do what they do in business.
