if you watch the sidebar ads in facebook, then no doubt you’ve come across folks offering themselves for hire as “ghostwriters” and the like. have you wondered what’s meant by this? a ghostwriter is someone who’s paid to write things like articles, blogs, features, etc — but have the credit go to another person. it’s very common with blogs where ongoing content generation is critical but where the lead professional(s) has become occupied with other work. the expert can talk loosely about a topic, outline topics for further elaboration or point towards a series of links for inspiration. i know what you’re thinking, does eric use a ghostwriter? no. i often create a number of blogs on a sunday and schedule them to release automatically throughout the week. this gives the impression that i’m writing every day. this is great for enhanced page rank through google, and it’s desirable to my readers who want something fresh on a regular basis. wordpress is awesome for this kind of “content drip” method.
