stumbled upon a great article on a variety of mobile web browsing stats. it’s probably no surprise that iphone is leading the charge in mobile web browsing. the elegance and efficiency of the internet experience with apple is astounding. what rocked me a bit was the extent to which they dominate. according to netmarketshare, iphone is the preferred mobile browsing device of nearly 64.81% of the market. android is a distant second at nearly 8.42%. the early entrant, palm, held a mere 1.80% of the pie. due to apple’s success in the niche, safari was the #1 mobile browser. mobile search engine of choice? google (of course). can you believe its grip stands at 97.57% of users?! overlay this with their desktop market share of 71.43%, and it’s no wonder why i only talk in terms of google where the subject is internet marketing research. you don’t need to succeed anywhere else.
