when you hear someone in business say “i’ve had the good fortune of working with (insert person or company name)…” don’t believe s/he for a second. it’s not because there’s a huge lie in progress, but instead because a small to medium sized fib is being told. “good fortune” is a humble statement that oversimplifies a success formula that’s squarely in play for the top entrepreneurs and business owners. people with a ton of positive things going for them attract and choose rock solid company. they are a magnet for breakthroughs, results and progress. they make sure to be in the right place. they understand the importance of timing. they do as opposed to talk or over-plan. don’t also believe the same folks when they say that luck plays a huge role in success. for the above reasons, certain people are more able to succeed because they get into the game more regularly. that means more opportunities, more failures from which to learn, more contacts to be made, more results, etc. the luck that’s in play is less about chance and more about increased probability.
