before you fly off the hook, lebron james was merely nominated for the time magazine “person of the year” honor yesterday. he is one of 25 people shortlisted at this stage. early polls indicate what lebron has already said himself — that he doesn’t deserve this. public perception sits squarely in favor of the turkish prime minister recep tayyip erdogan (117,239 votes), followed by lady gaga (78,701). lebron has just 5,125 backers. other nominees include barack obama and sarah palin. before we close the book on this…is james really undeserving of the honor? i think many are overlooking the purpose of the 83-year-old award. according to time, the magazine seeks to recognize the person who “for better or for worse, has done the most to influence the events of the year.” for previous posts on lebron james, simply type his name into the search bar at the upper righthand corner of this website.
