thanks to facebook friend raquel fernandez for the below video. team spain has a new shirt to commemorate their four-year status as the best soccer (er, football) team on the planet. designed by adidas, the shirt features a gold crest on the chest and electric blue down the sides and on each shoulder. the words ‘world champions 2010’ hug the neckline. no doubt that merchandise sales will be brisk this holiday season — even in the states. i watched the last world cup and was definitely pulling for the spanish squad. their commitment to team play may be greater than any i’ve seen in sports. fluid. unselfish. flashy when they needed it. david villa was the rock throughout the tournament and nearly won the most valuable player award. bravo espagne.
