it’s one of two times a year (throw in thanksgiving) that you can count on americans being vocal about blessings, good fortune or riddance, plans, hopes, and pending changes to be made. it seems that many of us are far too often on the grind or flying on autopilot. here’s a new years resolution to consider. don’t let mindfulness be a twice a year holiday ritual. go through each day with the calm and focus that only comes through considering the whole of what’s around, behind and just ahead of you. you don’t need to meditate formally or become a buddhist. just allow yourself time each day to collect your thoughts. sharpen your senses and reflexes. live fervently in the present. be prepared and ready to act at any time. be truly opportunistic. don’t allow yourself to live in the past.
