Lending Tree
Recognizes the Top 10 Lenders in Customer Satisfaction. Since Q3 2021, Strong Home Mortgage has maintained 97% 5-star ratings. Townsend lifted ratings on Google from 3.7 to 4.6 stars (from 32 to 300+ reviews), plus boosted overall ratings across all reputation channels to 4.8 stars over 6,000+ reviews.
The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS)
The National Marketing Communications Awards program was initiated in 1976 and is their longest-standing and most prestigious award. It recognizes excellence in marketing communications by professional services firms in the design and building industry. Townsend was recognized for his corporate identity work in support of Leo A Daly (1999).
American Marketing Association (AMA)
The M Award program was initiated in 2002 to recognize marketers and campaigns that demonstrate solid strategy, brilliant innovation and positive return on investment. Awards include best-in-class marketing in the areas of corporate identity, campaigns, direct marketing, marketing research, collateral, promotions, public relations, investor relations, advertising and multimedia. Townsend was recognized for his corporate identity work in support for Mint Fitness (2005).
The Webbys
This program was initiated in 1996 by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). The ceremony recognizes excellence on the internet including websites, interactive advertising, online film/video, and mobile content. 16 areas of expertise are recognized across 68 industries. Townsend was recognized under “Outstanding Pharmaceutical Website” for his work in support of Pfizer’s Animal Health division (2005).
PR Week
Like the M Award from AMA, PR Week magazine recognizes excellence in value-added marketing with their “Doing More With Less” features. Townsend was recognized for his success on direct mail and printed collateral for Goodwill (2005).
Washington Business Journal (WBJ)
The Book of Lists program (a.k.a. “The List”) features hundreds of the hottest area companies in their fields. They rank the top 25 by revenue generated as opposed to popularity. Listed are largest public and private companies, largest employers, and fastest-growing companies. Townsend directed business development for entrant SQN Communications Design, who debuted on the list at #17 (2005).
The Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAAs)
This program was initiated in 2003 to recognize advertising excellence specifically in the service industry. Entrants are evaluated by a national panel of judges on the basis of creativity, quality, consumer appeal, and overall break through advertising content. Of the 2,200+ entrants received in late 2010, just over 300 received recognition (14%) at the gold, silver, bronze, or merit level. Townsend was recognized with a silver and a bronze in advertising (only two entries were submitted) for work in support of Saint Gabrielle Street & Co. and Meet the Doggetts (2010).
Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC)
The Innovator Awards program was initiated in 2013 to recognize groundbreaking, influential, regional companies and technologies who have had a significant impact with customers. Nominees may be companies of any size serving clients in the federal and/or commercial sectors. Five finalists and one winner are named across four categories: Agile Systems Development, Cloud, Cyber, and Mobility. All are celebrated at the TechCelebration annual banquet. Townsend was recognized as part of the Latista Technologies team that was named finalist in the Mobility category. He designed desktop, tablet and smartphone user interfaces for the company’s productivity software (2013).
Kickstarter
The Staff Pick program was initiated by the crowdfunding platform in 2009. It recognizes particularly compelling, fun, creative, and exciting new ideas with well-priced rewards and a great story. The Showcase program features one project on their home and product category pages until deemed unseated. Townsend was recognized with a Staff Pick and Showcase for Tabula Raisa, a travel adventure book series he created for children ages 6+. The project was successfully funded for $12,879 and was showcased #1 of 418 in the Publishing category for the final two days of its 30-day run (2015).
